Marlies Erler can look back on successful years in the areas of pharmaceutical sales representation, product management and marketing at the global corporations Sanofi (Paris) and Pfizer (New York).

Since 2000, Marlies Erler has been working intensively as a certified business coach in the areas of team training, team playing and team leading.

Teamplaying, Teamleading

  • The willingness and ability to work productively and constructively with other people in groups
  • Willingness and ability to work together on goals and to fit into the group, to recognize roles in groups, to recognize group democracy.
  • Use of differences and similarities for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Anything that promotes cooperation also promotes the ability to work in a team

Training: work techniques, project management competence, strong conflict competence.

Empathy

  • Ability to empathise with the thoughts, feelings and world view of others.
  • Try to understand what makes the other person act and express certain opinions.
  • Understanding for vanities, personal hobbies, craving for recognition, profiling, self-opinionatedness, arrogance.

Training: Active listening, observation, knowledge of perception & assessment errors.

Non-verbal sensitivity

  • Conscious perception and meaningful interpretation of body language signals, paired verbal signals.
  • Targeted use of body language signals and paired verbal signals to convey a desired message.

Training: Knowledge of distance/space zones, concepts from NLP, the effect of clothing and speech, targeted use of handshake, firm standing, upright sitting.

Knowledge of human nature

Ability to accurately predict, recognize and consider individual and typical characteristics of individuals and groups of people. Comes from life and work experience and knowledge of typologies as explanatory models.

Training: Productive searching, establishing and maintaining contacts, refreshing basic knowledge of psychology and sociology.

Giving & receiving constructive criticism

Results from the ability, willingness and practical implementation of constructive criticism and acceptance of criticism.

  • Giving feedback – constructive, specific and concretely objective.
    Accepting feedback, listening attentively, accepting emotional distance, asking questions.

Conflict competence

  • Willingness and ability to deal successfully with conflicts.
  • Recognize, analyze, control and solve conflicts.
  • Willingness to allow conflicts to happen, to carry them out and to see them as an opportunity, as well as willingness to compromise.

Training: Knowledge of hot and cold conflicts, their characteristics and consequences, conflict levels, recognition of early warning signs, conflict resolution styles and strategies, conflict types, communication techniques, use of conflict and escalation rules, targeted changes of position

Systemic thinking

Ability to see all actors and actions in the context of a system, to consider the system's own dynamics as well as remote effects, to consider long-term consequences and effects on other persons (groups) involved.

Training: Introduction of the team, company, department as a system, knowledge of the power of the smallest change.
